Moving to Mexico City is exciting. Dealing with INM paperwork alone? Not so much. At Gestor Migratorio Alarcón, I help expats and digital nomads get their residency, work permits, and immigration status sorted — clearly, efficiently, and without the bureaucratic headaches.
Based in Mexico City, serving clients across CDMX and the metropolitan area.
Immigration paperwork is just the first step. Once your visa or residency is sorted, there's still a lot to navigate — finding the right neighbourhood, opening a bank account as a foreigner, registering your CURP and RFC, and understanding how daily life actually works in CDMX.
That's why I also offer dedicated relocation support for expats and digital nomads settling in Mexico City — practical, hands-on guidance to help you feel at home faster.
I'm Hugo Alarcón, an independent immigration consultant based in Mexico City. I guide foreign nationals through every stage of the Mexican immigration process at the INM — from temporary residency applications to work permits, renewals, and status changes.
Whether you're arriving on a tourist visa and need to regularise or you've just accepted a job offer with a Mexican company, I handle the paperwork so you can focus on settling in.

How long does the temporary residency process take? It varies depending on the consulate and INM workload, but most cases are completed within a few weeks once all documents are in order.
Can I work in Mexico with a temporary resident card? Not automatically. You need a work permit from the INM to engage in paid activities legally.
Can I apply for residency without leaving Mexico? In some cases, yes — for example, if you're changing status from visitor to temporary resident. It depends on your specific situation. Contact me and I'll evaluate your case.
What's the difference between temporary and permanent residency? Temporary residency is valid for 1–4 years and requires renewal. Permanent residency has no expiration date and is available after 4 consecutive years as a temporary resident, among other qualifying conditions.
How much does the full process cost, including government fees? Government fees vary by procedure and are set by the Mexican government. I always provide a full cost breakdown — my fee plus estimated government fees — before you commit to anything.
Do you offer remote assistance? Yes. Many steps can be handled digitally, and I guide you through the entire process regardless of where you're starting from.
Is this legal representation? I provide immigration advisory and procedural assistance based on official INM requirements. I do not offer legal defence services.
